Use and responsibility

Sanabit is a working tool for homeopaths to search and compare homeopathic source texts based on the symptoms of a case. The results provide a basis for the practitioner’s own review and assessment. Practitioners are responsible for their advice and treatments within applicable law. The tool never replaces health care.

Do not delay seeking care or change treatment because of the results.

Practice in Sweden

For practice in Sweden, Chapter 5 Section 1 of the Patient Safety Act (2010:659) restricts certain professional activities by people who are not health care personnel. These include treating certain diseases, examining or treating children under eight, and giving written treatment advice without a personal examination. This provision does not approve the tool or any treatment method.

Health care personnel are subject, among other duties, to Chapter 6 Section 1, requiring practice consistent with science and established professional experience. Chapter 5 Section 1 is therefore not a complete legal framework for all users.

For activities covered by Chapter 5 Section 1, Chapter 10 Section 6 can impose criminal liability for intentionally or negligently causing harm that is not minor, or a risk of such harm. This also applies when the harm or risk arises from interrupting or delaying medical care.

This is an overview of the specified Swedish provisions. Applicable rules depend on the activity, professional role and country of practice.
